India is the gem of the Orient in every sense of the term and this country fascinates me every time my wanderlust carries me to its arms. Especially mesmerizing about India are its temples and the Himalayas and it is to them I have turned to on each of my visit to this magical land.
However, it was only on my last visit that I dropped in at some of the beach resorts in India and also managed to make a night’s stay at a heritage resort in Rajasthan before moving down south. The beach destinations in India as I found out are no less fascinating than its temples and forts. The beaches in Goa and Kerala are particularly exotic. The quality of hotels at these places, are also exceptionally high and the premium resorts in India as I was pleasantly surprised to find out, quite adhere to international standards.
Our hotel in Kovalam, the Leela Kempinski, was fabulous. Because the resort is situated on a cliff, it gives a jetty like feeling- as if you are on the deck of a ship. The rooms are also excellent and the service unimaginably good. My son wanted to have chocolate ice cream in the middle of the night and guess what? They served with a smiling face. I am sure this is one of the best resorts in India.
At Rajasthan they arranged our stay at a place called Neemrana in an ancient fort turned heritage hotel. This was also a great experience and the huge Neemrana Fort itself has got so much to offer that you would hardly need to go for a sightseeing tour. I got all the information about all these resorts from www.india-hotels-resorts.com which also offers online booking facilities which is why I could book all the rooms in advance and didn’t have to face any of the touts at the airport.
